Half of Cleveland families are headed by single mothers
2000 US Census figures show that 49.9% of Cleveland families are headed by females who have at least one child under 18 years of age.
Of the nearly 112,000 families identified in Cleveland by the 2000 US Census, 49.9% of Cleveland families are headed by females who have at least one child under 18 years of age.
In Cuyahoga, 30.4% of 354,615 families were headed by females who have at least one child under 18 years of age. Percentages in Ohio (7.3%) match the national percentages (7.2%).
