The Population Estimates Program of the U.S. Census Bureau provides mid-year population estimates for all residents in Cleveland for 2000 through 2006.

Mid-year estimates reflect the population as of July 1 for each year provided.

Population Estimates Program (PEP) figures vary greatly from the American Community Survey (ACS) figures provided by the Census Bureau. The PEP estimates reflect all residents while the ACS reflect only the non-institutionalized population. PEP estimates are favored over ACS when users need the total population for a geographic area.

A recent update from the US Census Department estimates the population estimate for Cleveland in 2007  as 438,042, a 1.1% change from the 2006 population estimate. (added July 11, 2008). Cuyahoga County population dropped to 1,295,958 persons as of July 1, 2007. Ohio population increased by some 3,400 persons to 11,466,917. (Source: American Fact Finder, US Census Bureau, Table T1. We accessed American Fact Finder, the online interactive website of the Census Department to generate table GCT-T1. Population Estimates using the 2006 Population Estimates data set.  The table reflects places and county subdivisions for Ohio.
