Preliminary 2007 HIV/AIDS Surveillance Findings - CDPH by db — last modified 2008-02-10 18:34 PM
This report, presented to the Health Committee of Cleveland City Council on February 7, 2008, provides an early glimpse of 2007 HIV/AIDS surveillance for Cleveland. The 2007 HIV/AIDS surveillance registry will close in March 2008 and totals be compiled thereafter. The report provides prevalance, incidence and trends among youth, females, and by race. Also, a table with current prevalence and 2006-7 incidence by SPA (statistical planning areas) for Cleveland was included. Produced by the Cleveland Department of Public Health.

Cancer Incidence Across Cuyahoga County, 1998-2002 by db — last modified 2008-02-19 14:32 PM
Tables with the observed (reported) and expected numbers of new (incident) primary cancer for all sites/types combined for all Cleveland statistical planning areas and Cuyahoga County municipalities. Tables are split by those areas with higher/lower than expected case counts and case counts as expected compared to national cancer levels.

Tables of observed cases, expected cases and the ratio of these case counts, the standardized incidence ratio, for all new primary cancers for all sites and types diagnosed during 1998 through 2002 for Cuyahoga County and Cleveland residents. Average annual age-adjusted cancer incidence rates for all sites and types of primary cancer are presented in this Excel file. Average annual case counts and rates per 100,000 are presented for Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, inner and outer ring neighborhoods (aggregated) and each Cleveland neighborhood and county muncipality. Rates for all residents and by race and sex are presented. Produced by the Cleveland Department of Public Health in cooperation with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and the Ohio Department of Health - Ohio Cancer Incidence Surveillance System.

Lead Screening Results for Cleveland Neighborhoods and Cuyahoga County Municipalities - 2004 by db — last modified 2008-02-28 11:13 AM
The Cuyahoga County Board of Health has developed tables which shows the number of blood lead tests reported to the Ohio Department of Health by age group and location for Cleveland neighborhoods (statistical planning areas) and county municipalities for 2004.

Number of births decrease 18% in Cleveland from 2000-02 to 2003-05 by db — last modified 2008-02-28 13:46 PM
A comparison of birth certificate data for Cleveland from 2000-2002 to 2003-2005 revealed an 18.2% decrease in live births and an 18.1% decrease for births to teens age 19 years and younger. However, more of those births to teens occurred among African American/Black mothers in 2003-2005 compared to 2000-2002. Increases in low and very low birthweight babies reflect national trends where aggressive medical services and technology are more readily available to save newborns younger than 28 weeks. Improvements in the percentage of mothers starting prenatal care in the first trimester were noted. Report from the Cleveland Department of Public Health.

Cleveland Department of Public Health and Case Western Reserve University jointly released new data on tobacco use, asthma, obesity, and diabetes for both youth and adults in Cleveland. This is the first time that such detailed health information has ever been released on both Cleveland youth and adults together.

The number of persons living with HIV/AIDS is increasing due to two reasons: people are living longer with HIV and AIDS, and new people are being infected age 50 and over. This slide set was presented by the Cleveland Department of Public Health at the Health Services Institute on March 28, 2007 and describes the current statistics in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County of the prevalence and incidence of HIV and AIDS among residents 50 and over and discusses the current challenges to health, social service professionals and citizens alike.

This is a national surveillance data report for Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis infections reported in 2006 by the CDC. It presents current rates, predicts increasing trends and provides readers with the estimated costs for direct medical costs of these sexually transmitted diseases. Behaviors driving these increases and racial disparities in rates are discussed.
