More adults in tri-county area lack health insurance - 2008 Ohio Family Health Survey

The 2008 Ohio Family Health Survey reveals that almost a quarter of a million adults age 18 to 64 in Cuyahoga, Lorain and Summit counties lack health insurance. The analysis was released by the Center for Community Solutions.

The Center for Community Solutions and the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University prepared a report on health insurance coverage in Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit counties using the 2008 Ohio Family Health Survey (OFHS).

The findings, released in March, show that, between 2004 and 2008, the number and percent of persons without health insurance in Ohio increased among working‐age adults ages 18 to 64, but decreased among children under 18. Similar results occurred for Cuyahoga, Lorain and Summit counties.
